Edward DeJesus - Chief Executive Officer
Ed DeJesus is a founder and the CEO of JustZip.com. Ed’s entrepreneurial experience with start-ups and publicly traded companies, enabled him to define and drive the company’s business components, product requirements, and the website’s community contents. In 2003, Ed co-founded The Neighborhood Advertising Company, a free online marketplace, and the concept behind JustZip.com. In 2004, he led the joint development and merger with the founders of TheDirectoryCenter.com, now known as JustZipPages.com. In 2006 Ed recruited the team at SE Entertainment, formerly of MySpace/SETV, to produce JustZipTV, our entertainment channel with video services.
In his role of CEO, Ed is responsible for directing the company’s management team and sales strategies, while establishing JustZip’s vision, setting its goals, raising capital and driving its growth. Ed also draws upon his previous technical and management background. In 1998, he founded ALL-EDA, a consortium of Electronic Design Automation firms that he merged with Manufacturers’ Services Limited (MSL), a global supply-chain company. As MSL’s Vice President of Design Services, he drove engineering, manufacturing, sales, finance and M&A. His business units, which grew from zero to $32MM, were instrumental to MSL’s successful IPO in 2000.
Prior to MSL, Ed paralleled a successful career at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), while operating his own retail stores, managing his real estate and studying computer science at the University of Massachusetts and Boston University. At DEC, he pioneered their CAD systems as a PC designer and software developer. As a Principal Software Engineer, he was lead architect of PEARL, Digital’s AI knowledge-based design tool. His work was widely published and presented at the Artificial Intelligence and Design Automation conferences. He later held senior management positions and became Director of EDA at Digital’s Networks Products Division.
Daniel Cassidy - President and Chief Operating Officer
Dan Cassidy is a co-founder of JustZip.com, the online marketplace that is “Local. Fast. And Free”. He is also the President and COO of Innovative Advertising Corporation (IAC), JustZip.com’s parent company. In his roles as President and Chief Operating Officer, Dan Cassidy is responsible for day-to-day operations including Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support.
Dan brings a strong entrepreneurial and academic background to JustZip.com, which includes Advertising, Graphic Design, Sales & Marketing, and Business Management. Armed with a BS degree from UMASS Lowell, Dan headed west and obtained AS degrees in Graphic Design and Marketing at San Diego State University. In 1985, he began his marketing career with Promotional Concepts of San Diego and quickly became regional sales manager for Southern California. He later joined Service Advertising, Inc (SAI) and lead the expansion of the San Diego based direct-marketing & advertising company into Northern CA. Within two years, Dan established additional sales operations in Nevada, Oregon and Arizona, which culminated in his promotion to Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
In 1988, Dan left SAI and launched National Promotions Company (NPC), an Advertising and Marketing firm, which catered to small and medium sized retail businesses, in the San Jose/San Francisco Bay area. In ’94, NPC absorbed a smaller firm operated by a former colleague of Dan’s and they combined their administrative offices in San Diego. Over the next two years, the west coast Company grew to 35 employees, with sales approaching $2MM. The growth continued until an unfortunate family event occurred, prompting his plan to return to Massachusetts. A decision was made to pare down operations and eventually dissolve the west coast business. Dan then made plans to move back east to be with his family.
Returning to Massachusetts, Dan assumed management positions at other Massachusetts firms while retaining his NPC business and a goal of creating, low cost, on-line marketing for local business owners. In 2000, he enlisted a trio of engineers to develop tools for streamlining the web page creation process and hosting of an on-line business directory. Together they created a division called TheDirectoryCenter.com (TDC). In early 2002, Dan established Innovative Advertising Corporation as TDC’s e-commerce parent. In mid 2004, Dan and his TDC co-founders met with the principals of TheHood.com, and the concept for JustZip.com was born. Dan was instrumental in driving the joint development venture and the eventual merger between TheHood.com and TheDirectoryCenter.com. This evolved into JustZip.com and JustZipPages.com respectfully.
JustZip.com attracts focused local consumer traffic and allows area businesses to promote their goods and services with inexpensive classified ads and coupons, as well as business-class web pages hosted on JustZipPages.com. “JustZip’s” array of services helps to level the Internet’s playing field for small businesses by providing quality, professional marketing with costs below traditional pricing models. This allows JustZip’s varied clients to compete with national chains and e-commerce companies without needing the same substantial marketing and advertising budgets of the “big guys”.
